About Tumut Basketball Association

 

Tumut Basketball Association is a community based not for profit sporting association run by volunteers with a long history of over 70 years. Tumut Basketball started back in the early 1920’s, with the first Tumut Basketball Association being formed in 1949.

A one court shed was built by community donations and volunteers and officially opened on 26 April 1975 called the Alan Went Stadium and is located on Elm Drive Tumut NSW 2720. This is still currently used today.

Tumut Basketball Association has played a significant role in facilitating the growth of basketball in the region. We continue to serve as a vital hub for basketball enthusiasts in Tumut and surrounding areas, providing opportunities for recreation, competition and community engagement.

Tumut Basketball offer competitions for players of all ages and abilities. From Basketball Hoops (teaching the basics to our young 5 year olds) through to representative basketball, we’re committed to providing pathways in the game we love.

Tumut Basketball currently has 9 junior representative teams, and over 600 players participating in local competition games each week.

Come and get involved with Tumut Basketball that is a club with a proud local history and play one of Australia’s fastest growing sports.
